Now that Kai is talking all the time, he says some fun and interesting stuff. Here are some of my favorites:

When I asked Kai how much fun he had playing at the pool with his friend TJ, he looked out the window and replied: “I had as much fun as there are clouds in the sky.”
“Dreams are imagination. Imagination can be things that are dead or things that are real.” Kai talking to me about what we are going to dream about at night

Aunt Elizabeth’s cat, Charlie, had some shorter hair on his back. Kai was petting Charlie then he cupped Charlie’s head in his hands: “BlackWhite (Charlie is black and while) why you so prickly?” Elizabeth and I asked Kai what Charlie replied. Kai says “He say meow”

Kai is building a house for small dinosaurs with the sofa cushions. Young and I ask “How many dinosaurs are there?”
Kai responds “1, 2, 8, 9, 10. Five. There are five dinosaurs.”
“Those look very delicious!” Kai commenting on the container of yogurt covered pretzels we bought at the store.

While viewing a statue of a horse: “That horse is not real. Dinosaurs are dead.”
While driving along the street in Manteo, NC: “Those are real nice bushes. They would look good in our front yard. That is a nice tree.”
“Baby Milo smells like a rolly-polly.”
“My poo feels like a big ball. Feel it Mommy.” – after he went poo in his diaper and you could see a big lump through the back of his diaper. Note: I did not feel it.

“Silly Kai” — when Kai came downstairs with two shirts instead of a shirt and pair of pants
“Just in case I get hungry” — filling up his lunch box before we go on a car trip
“Just in case underwear” — he brings down two pairs of underwear in the morning. One to wear and one “just in case”
“I like this underwear, I won’t get it wet” — putting on his Cars underwear
“I want to go on a spaceship and take off”
“I want to go in a shark cage. I want to see a hammerhead shark eat” — Proof he really is my son
“Why is daddy dark? Why is mommy light? Why is Kai dark? Why is Baby Milo red?” — interesting he is starting to notice differences between individuals though curious that Baby Milo is red
“Mommy, I went poo. Come look!” — always a fun thing to do

“Diaper on?” If answered with “yes” that is followed with quite a look of relief on his face.
“I’ll show you something really cool”
“I found a booger Ma-eh (that’s how he pronounced Mommy)”
“Oh, do you want me to get you a tissue?”
“No. I ate it.”
We can’t wait to hear his words of wisdom in person!

Lee and Greg
